A Parish Meeting was instituted in Cheriton Bishop in 1894 and the first Council of eight elected councillors met on the 13th December in that year. The Council meets on the second Monday in each month at the Spalding Hall, Church Lane at 7.30 pm and members of the public are invited to attend. Provision is made at the beginning of every meeting for electors to address the Council on any topic. At the discretion of the Chairman a meeting may not take place in August.
